The stripes are narrower than the Met dress, but that's ok.

I'm not sure I'm the best one to give you advice on sleeves - I tried doing two-part sleeves on this one that were a total fail. So I reverted to a sleeve pattern that usually works for me. I think I would try a similar pattern first, and once you get it to work, maybe try modifiying that!

Thanks again for your kind words!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14336966472461335637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7019599230813124470.post-23991828868932867092012-10-15T11:05:00.714-04:002012-10-15T11:05:00.714-04:00Thank you!Thank you!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14336966472461335637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7019599230813124470.post-37934371110006679932012-10-15T11:04:52.895-04:002012-10-15T11:04:52.895-04:00Thank you! Good luck!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14336966472461335637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7019599230813124470.post-19132378333715637222012-10-14T15:27:56.195-04:002012-10-14T15:27:56.195-04:00This is fantastic! It's also really neat how you've picked out a brighter fabric that is probably very close to the original dress's colour when it was first made. I am going to start work on a dress this winter, and am wondering what process you most recommend for sewing tight sleeves. Just lots of tests? Or would you recommend trying to find a pattern that has similar sleeves? Thanks for keeping this top-notch costume blog! I get excited every time there's a new post :D TheWellStaffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06530354095525753637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7019599230813124470.post-82856752813948024202012-10-13T19:05:45.563-04:002012-10-13T19:05:45.563-04:00This looks so amazing! I wonder if I could make a really simple one, as my sewing skills are really not up there!
Laura Morriganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16402692693911867276noreply@blogger.com
