Costumes on display in DC...

I was in DC with friends and the Museum of American History had a bunch of different costumes on display.

Here are some of the First Lady gowns. Sorry, I was bad and don't have identifiers on a lot of them. They're mostly quick snaps. More info here: http://americanhistory.si.edu/exhibitions/first-ladies

A new brooch!

I bought this silver foil-backed paste heart drop from one of my favorite online antique dealers, Nalfie.  It's circa 1820/40 (the top part), and 1900 (the drop), though the pin back is a recent replacement.  It wasn't super expensive and it's perfect for my costuming purposes. Such a pretty find!

Regency Card Party

Belated reporting, but I wanted to post pics from Jenny-Rose's lovely Regency card party! As usual the food was amazing (I need recipes!!) and the decorations lovely. All that candlelight!

Treneka, a friend of Jenny-Rose's took photos too - here's the site with them - I borrowed a few, including this group photo: forthejoyphotography.pass.us/card-party/

Francaise Dinner

So here we have the Francaise dinner itself. There were so many logistics that weekend, but amazingly, it really couldn't have gone better!

Gloria's friend Beth is a professional photographer and she took beautiful photos for us! I'll share some of those in another post.

Here's the group pic she took: BWPWdraftgroupphoto

A very big thanks to Gen for making us these beautiful cameo chocolates, which we put on everyone's plate. They were so pretty and much as I hated to eat them, they also tasted delicious. Thank you, Gen!
