I was so happy to be able to make the Francaise Dinner this year! Thank you to Judy for organizing it! Having a raffle, and stuff you could buy were nice extra touches. The food was amazing, and everyone looked so good!
I rewore my striped francaise that I'd only worn once before at the Costume Con where we mostly sat in that room on the 9th floor. I changed it up a little with vintage millinary dahlias on the stomacher and in my hair. And I used the wig I had styled in rolls and combed the front of my hair over the top. I think wigs work really well that way. I also used one of my fat sausage curls. I also wore my pale pink collet necklace and earrings from Taylor, and the pearl/flower bracelets I got in LA from that FIDM student store when I visited Loren a few years ago. I also had my first outing of my American Duchess embroidered mules. And Julia dyed some AD stockings pale green, so I wore those too.
Here are a few pics of my outfit:
I also brought along my Mary Russell muff, but it really wasn't practical to use indoors.

Katy - she had a ship on her hair with blue feathers for water underneath it, which was pretty awesome:

One of the starters was a tray of these babies - fried bacon wrapped scallops. They were amazing.
Here we are trying to disguise the fact that we all have mouths stuffed with shrimp toast.
I think this was Kat's pic of me pretending to shop. Oh, I did really shop. But this was posed.
Jess - we used the same green trim on our gowns!

And here's the crazy part! My mutant power is not winning raffles. I once when to a store opening where they had a ton of prizes, plus I bought extra tickets, and other people had won two or three times before I won once. I just never, ever win raffles. So I wasn't going to bother with this one. But then Judy said the proceeds were to help pay for an open bar for next year, so I bought some tickets and dumped them into the American Duchess $100 gift certificate container. AND I WON! I couldn't believe it. Maybe my raffle luck is changing. :-)
More stolen pix - here's Amanda with me and my tiara in the background:
This one caught Doug and I in the background:
The next morning after check out, Doug and I met Isabella, her mom, Stephanie and Matt at the Classic Diner (we ate there a couple times during Dress U) for breakfast. My enormous sandwich:
Here are a few more pics of me courtesy of Gloria and Mike:
So this is obviously in my general vicinity (eastern PA), so how do I not know these amazing things are going on? I hear about every least and little things going on on the west coast and in Europe!
