One more piece I bought a while ago, again from nalfie/CJAntiquesLTD. The photos are theirs.
An antique solid 9 carat gold Georgian period brooch; set with a natural shell cameo, very finely hand carved to depict a goddess (Flora?), surrounded by lustrous split pearls and set with a glass locket compartment to the back holding an old hair memento. All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Pendant fittings old additions.
Around 1820. Not marked.
Costumes, accessories, jewelry, and art, made and bought. But not for sale!

Riversdale 12th Night Ball
A bunch of us went to the 12th Night Ball at Riversdale (which included supper) and it was as delightful as last year! I was going to make something new but I just wasn't able to get enough time for it. But I realized I had a drawstring dress with a purple sari with peacocks on it, that I had only worn once to a card party and didn't really have pictures of. So I wore that, a new necklace and fan by In the Long Run (https://www.etsy.com/shop/inthelongrun), my tiara by TheMillineress (https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheMillineress), my antique citrine earrings.
I also did make something new, a Georgian/Regency cloak - which I made using the Laughing Moon pattern. (http://www.lafnmoon.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=P135&CartID=1) I used non-period accurate dupioni that I had in the stash. I interlined it with a blanket fabric I had on had for warmth. And I didn't have a ton of the dupioni so I only used it to line the hood, and I used a dotted cotton to line the body of it.
I love seeing Riversdale all lit up! It was way warmer than last year, no snow/ice on the ground.
Mitts also by In the Long Run!
Our menu - different chef than last year (because of a schedule conflict), but the food was delicious!!

2016 Holiday Tea
This year's holiday team had a fairly wide open theme, and since I was tired and stressed, and I just wasn't in a mood for corsets or stays, I decided to go 20s. I have exactly one 20s dress (I need more!!) but I had bought a vintagey sweater and modified the belt to closer resemble the photo of 20s sweater jackets I had. Added a new hat from Etsy, and some Forever 21 glasses (thanks for the find, Judy!) that resemble ones worn by Miss Fisher, and my new Miss L Fire shoes that sorta go. I also made use of a brooch and a 20sish necklace from Sweet Romance. Everything was slightly not matchy, but I liked the end look. And the tea was really fun! It was at Tea on the Tiber at Ellicott City. The food was delicious (those cinnamon scones!!) and the company was great as always!
Here's the look I was going for - funny, I didn't realize the lady in the brown sweater was wearing a pink dress with black trim! :-)
Oh, and I wore my great-grandmother's watch from the nineteens:
Oh, the food! That lemon cake!
Scones! Fruit! Cheese!
Jess and Judy wore 20s too!
I loved Amanda's cheerful plaid dress!
Kristin brought her sweet new baby and hubby as well! It was little E's first costume event! At least outside the womb!
Ellicott City had pretty holiday lights:
