I was in Austin, TX for a work meeting, but I was able to get over to the Dallas/Fort Worth area so I could attend the Dallas/Ft Worth Costume Guild's Mad Hatter's tea (and meet some costume friends I knew from online) and visit with my friend Lesa.
We picked up jenthompson on the way to the tea, so we got lots of extra time to chat! It was soooo nice to finally meet her!
The tea was at an antique place, which was really fun:
Jen and I:
Lesa wore a Doctor Who Fez and shirt and the whole thing worked very well with those of us in historical costumes because we had a bunch of different periods and it was like she'd picked us up in her TARDIS!
Here is the Doctor and I ready to go adventuring! ;-)
Cynthia's beautiful 18th century:
It was very nice to meet kaesha_nikovana who looked gorgeous in blue!
A pretty lamp:
Our two bustle gowns (the other is christylee) and Cynthia's husband:
Cynthia and Other Maggie: (Actually, at this party, I think I was the Other Maggie! ;-) )
Delicious scones and little muffins and rolls. The pink strawberry cream cheese or butter or whatever it was, was so good!
We were so busy playing costume party games (naming different types of hats and identifying movie costume hats - I had the edge on that one!) that I didn't photograph the sandwiches! They were really good though!
Here's us contemplating the last one:
Egg salad:
The chicken salad was delicious too:
And then dessert! Yum!
Shoe shot!
An interesting guitar in the shop:

After the tea, we went to a nearby park to take pics!
The lovely nuranar
Christy's beautiful walking gown and parasol:
Christy was having a good hair day! She didn't use any hairpieces!
Cynthia:

Doctor Lesa:
Cynthia's husband was her companion!
Me: (Thanks to Jen for a bunch of these pics!)
Jen:
I loved Jen's hat!
The Regency ladies:

And a few pics from Lesa:
What great photos! I completely forgot about the event, and I'm sorry that I missed it. It would have been lovely to have met you in person!
ReplyDeleteOh, I"m sorry too! There's always another time! :-)
