Gloria and I spent a day sightseeing in Salem. After our day, we headed back to the hotel to get dressed up to go to the CostumeCon social. I brought myy Anovos Trek dress because it was easy to pack and wear.
Meanwhile back at home, Doug and the munchkin were grocery shopping:
With Gloria and Sarah:
Bedtime back at home!
We also caught part of the contest where there were several pre-selected patterns that people could choose from, and everyone did their own unique thing based on one of those patterns.
I got a few photos after. This autumn bustle was stunning:
Gloria’s Diana Prince suit:
The next morning, we wandered around a bit. This was a lovely Cinderella costume:
This person did an entire Titanic wardrobe for an American Girl sized doll. It was so on point!
One of my fav costumes from the weekend, this woman dressed up as Janet from The Good Place, complete with cactus (which doubled as a purse!).
Amelia’s lovely Outlander costume:
Her friend also had one:
I wore my League of Their Own costume for a while. Easy to wear/comfortable, but I was actually pretty chilly in it so eventually changed.
Gloria wore historical Belle.
Carrie in Game of Thrones:
Doug started his trek to Pittsburgh to see his family. Here they are at a rest stop for lunch:
Carrie was amazing and actually lent me her car so I could go to the mall for Pokemon Go community day! I was going to catch a Lyft or something and she was super sweet and just told me to take her mini. I was extremely careful with it! Thanks, Carrie! So I caught treeko for a couple hours and then headed back to hang out.
It was Gloria’s birthday, so we went out to dinner in Salem!
Here’s Bewitched again:
We went to Blue Fez. Those grape leaves were some of the best I ever had!
Sangria:
Falaffel:
Back in Pittsburgh:
Glynnis and two others. On the left is Lestat, Glynnis is Mme du Wardrobe, and on the right is the Prince from live action Beauty & the Beast.
They decided to reenact that meme, and while they were posing, some woman passing by actually yelled “Are you reenacting that meme??!” Too funny!
By the time we got back from dinner and changed, we had missed most of the big Masquerade. Oops. I also totally forgot how freaking long it takes to get into my Padme picnic costume because I haven’t worn it in probably 10 years. And as I was putting it on, I found myself wanting to redo so many things about it. :-(
Morning pics from Doug:
I met one of my BFFs (former officemate who lives in Boston most of the time now) for breakfast. He came and picked me up and we ate at Red’s Sandwich shop in Salem. Carrie recommended it and the food was awesome. Corned beef hash is a specialty and I had it as a Benedict and it was so good.
We had a really nice long talk and then strolled around after breakfast.
Oh Salem.
Witch trial memorial.
Then back to the Con to hang out.
Angela looked amazing in every era she wore.
Still missing this little one:
This was another favorite costume from the weekend. Terry did regency Ghostbusters for a group costume of historical era superheroes. Her proton pack was wicker and had a parasol!!
Gloria in regency Wonder Woman.
We found this spot in the hotel that had nice lighting, so we took a bunch of pics there.
A cranky Elena was heading home from Pittsburgh with Doug:
And I was making my way to the airport for my late flight!
On my way out of the hotel, I spotted this lovely francaise:
Cool Salem pokestops:
My sound asleep baby at the aiport! Doug just parked and I came out to the garage and we let her sleep:
And thus ends my trip!
