I had the best time last night at the Francaise dinner party Kat organized! It was held at a restaurant in PA that Robin recommended. The food was awesome, as was the company!
Backing up a bit, Jess let me crash at her place, which happened to be near where Doug's sister lives. So Doug and I drove up Saturday and he dropped me off. It was nice to have someone to help with hair and I had a lot of fun getting ready for the party with Jess!
I was really happy with how my hair came out too!
I'm so in love with these shoes/buckles!
Jess and I ready to go to the party:
Everyone had winter cloaks - it was cold! But fortunately not snowy or rainy!
Kat & I - we had the same Forever 21 necklace!
Also, she has a ship on her head! So awesome!
The lighting was fairly low...
Me & Kat again:
Both sides of the table!

Everyone looked awesome!
Amanda - and her gorgeous new dress!
Jess:
This is funnier without the story behind it! :-)
The French onion soup - SO good!
Kat had custom lip balm made - this one smells like CAKE. Awesome!
Many of us got the Chicken Francaise for dinner because of the name! Also, it was delicious! The vegetables were so good too, as were the mashed potatoes. If only we hadn't all been wearing stays!
Jenny-Rose had big feathers and there was a nearby (unlit) candle! We joked about not knowing how women didn't set themselves on fire back then!
Dessert - yummy cheesecake!
Isabella:
Stephanie:
Shoes!
Kat's ship started listing:
After dinner, we went upstairs and found a shot to take some group pics. Two people got a group pic of everyone, but I'll have to post those when they show up on LJ!
Here are small groups:
Stripes:
Florals:
Solids:
Gentlemen:
And, of course.. shoe shot!
American Duchess buckles!
Eeeee, love it! I so wish there were enough costumers in the midwest to arrange one of these
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event! Everyone looks so FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteWonderful attire! You all look smashing!
ReplyDeleteI am thoroughly jealous! You always go to such fabulous events!! This one looks and sounds like it was wonderful. Everyone's gowns are gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteYou all look beautiful, and I personally love the shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou all look absolutely amazing.
ReplyDelete@Verdaera - where in the MidWest are you - I'm in Ohio and we have a small collective of people who might be up for something like this...although I'm not sure it would be as fancy without enough notice for all of us to make new gowns :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone!
ReplyDeleteHow I wish there were 18th century costume parties around where I live! The best one though--is the masked ball at Versailles! Check out my blog post about it here: http://thetravelingpear.com/2011/07/10/591/
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I moved to Paris for the Spring/Summer and this was the highlight of our life!!!
@travelingpear - Wow, that's amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture with the shoes! And the hairstyles-just to swoon over. Everyone looks so lovely....
